Astrals

In the vast expanse of Ad Astrium, beyond the reach of mortal eyes, lies a wonder that surpasses imagination. Each fragment of stardust bears a minuscule fragment of the universe's consciousness, and as these particles accumulate, they form ever more intricate and potent forms of consciousness.
The celestial bodies - the stars, galaxies, and all else that shines in the cosmos - possess a consciousness, a will, and a desire to interact with the universe around them, each with its own motives, agendas, and ideals to guide the fate of all creation. These beings are known as the Astrals. However powerful and wise they may be, the full scope of their energy and consciousness is bound within the Astral Realm. Due to this limitation, in order to interact with and realize their will upon the physical realm, they manifest Avatars.
Astral Avatars
Astral Avatars are the physical manifestations of the Astral Beings. Carrying merely a sliver of the power and memories of their true forms, the avatars are unable to directly impact the physical realm in a meaningful manner and are mostly observed to accompany humans. Aiding those who align with their benevolent desires.
These Avatars take on various humanoid forms defined by key characteristics of their celestial bodies and the general outlook and emotional perception of physical life forms of said celestial body. The breadth and scope of their nature and abilities also vary within each category.
The Astrid Stars
The most prominent among the Astral Beings are the Astrids. These childlike avatars of the stars hold within them a sliver of the vast energy of the star that manifests them, though their power is limited by their nature as mere avatars. Their appearance is often deceivingly ordinary, allowing them to blend in as regular children. However, when they exercise their limited abilities such as floating or dematerializing, their hair shimmers with the vibrant energy of the astral plane. The Astrids are not merely entertainers for those who seek to harness their powers. Instead, they form tethers with those who have good hearts or are otherwise destined to play a role in the grand scheme of fate, known as the Stargazers. These tethers are not necessarily meant to offer a surge of power or energy to their stargazers, but are often focused on helping them solve their personal problems and trauma while inadvertently contributing to the grand arc of Ad Astrium. Though they do not possess a wealth of knowledge about the cosmos, the Astrids are instilled with latent knowledge that arises in them as feelings or instinct or a quiet whisper in their minds when certain events are triggered that are key to the story. As avatars of the stars, they are not necessarily wise, but they are able to offer guidance to those who seek it. In Ad Astrium, where the balance between the astral and physical realms is delicate, the Astrids play a significant role in maintaining that balance, tethering themselves to those who can help protect the universe from those who seek to upset it. They are a reminder that even in the vastness of space, the smallest and most ordinary beings can hold within them the greatest power and potential for good.
